Massage During Childbirth Decreases Labor Duration

“Among pregnant women, a massage lasting at least 30 minutes during delivery significantly decreased the duration of the first and second stages of labor, and significantly increased newborns’ tolerance of the birthing process and well-being outside the womb, according to recent research.

The study, ‘Effect of massage therapy on duration of labor: a randomized controlled trial,’ involved 100 pregnant women in labor inthe maternity ward of a hospital. these subjects were randomly assigned to either the massage group or the control group prior to delivery.
